GAPP GeorgiaGeorgia Pediatric Program, explained

The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP)

Same program, many names. Here's how they connect.

Short answer"Georgia Pediatric Program" is the official name of GAPP, Georgia Medicaid's program for in-home skilled nursing and personal care for medically fragile children under 21.

Where it came from

Georgia Medicaid started the Georgia Pediatric Program in August 2002. In March 2003, two older programs, the Model Waiver Program and Exceptional Children's Services, were merged into GAPP. Today it's run by the Georgia Department of Community Health.

Other names you'll hear

  • GAPP, the common short name
  • GAPP program or GAPP Georgia, how most people search for it
  • Georgia Pediatric In-Home Nursing, a description used in state materials
  • Private duty nursing or pediatric home nursing, the general type of care
